Going to amusement parks is something I love doing in the summer. It is fun, relaxing, and you get to spend time with family and friends. Every year, my family and I go to Water Country.
Water Country is a water park in New Hampshire and it has sort of become a tradition for us. My family treats it like an all day event. We load up the car with food, drinks, and all necessities we'll need and embark on our two hour journey. I love the feeling of seeing the tallest water coaster from down the street, lets me know we're close.
There are two main water parks in the New England area; Water Country and Water Wizz. Water Country has been opened longer and is more popular. There are a ton of attractions, events and amazing food to stuff your face with. There are about three pools, a whirlpool, children play spots, and about a dozen rides. My favorite ride is the dragon's den.
Not only are the rides and pools great but the food is amazing. A very popular American "snack" in the summer is fried dough and water country has the best. On top of their fried dough, they have great fries, burgers, and hot dogs!
As I mentioned before, there is another water park; Water Wizz. Water Wizz is smaller than Water County and more of a hometown place to go. Water Wizz actually grew to fame after Adam Sandler filmed his hit move "Grown Ups" at the park! This park has about six water coasters, three pools and some kid only areas.
Water Wizz is mostly known as a kid's park since it is smaller and the rides are more accessible for children but, everyone can still enjoy themselves and have a great time. Its also great for kid's parties!
Now onto one of the most popular amusement parks in the US; Six Flags. You've probably heard of Six Flags in movies and television shows or the scary superman ride. Six Flags is definitely the most popular amusement park out of all three and that is because it caters to everyone.
Six Flags has activities and events for people of all ages. There are rides, games, and cartoon characters only for children and there are over a dozen rollercoasters and water coasters in the entire park.
The coolest thing about Six Flags is that there is a rollercoaster part of the park where you can ride however many rides you want, play carnival games, or watch a live performance of a celebrity impersonator. However, you also have the option of going to Hurricane Harbor, which is the water park on the other side of the park. You get the best of both worlds here.
Amusement parks are great day activities for the entire family. What is your favorite amusement park?
